We saw the obstetrician today – everything was fine until he tried to find our baby’s heart beat. He slid the doppler over my belly, left and right, up and down but there was nothing. I couldn’t breathe, my husband just held my hand tightly and we looked at the doctor, waiting for him to say something. He mumbled that he’d be back in a minute and while he was gone neither one of us could speak. He returned a moment later pushing a low-tech mobile ultrasound machine, gelled up the wand and hunted around my belly for our little baby. He found him (or her??) right away, he (or she??) was just hiding! We saw our little baby’s heart beating away and the doctor looked as relieved as we did! Honestly, the collective relief in that room was enough to drown the universe! Naughty little baby, already playing hide and seek with mummy and daddy!
We didn’t get much of a look at our little baby but we did see legs! It is so incredible to see how much our little baby has grown.
