About Me
This site: Once upon a time, I kept an online journal which was updated daily in a completely compulsive fashion and eventually accumulated over six years worth of entries. I closed my website in February 2007 and replaced my online journal with an old skool paper journal. How novel! Now, after a series of events that I am not going to describe, I’ve decided to return to the already overcrowded blogosphere. I love photography which was the inspiration behind the site and the design but this will not necessarily be a website about photography. I’m often quite guarded and a little too sensitive when it comes to criticism so I may not post many photos at all. Then again, I may surprise us all and post a lot!
Me: I’m 33 34 35 and (mostly) loving it, probably because I don’t act my age. I also love pedicures, kisses, tofu, Australian wool, pots of hot tea and long soaks in the tub. By day I am an admin manager within the public health system and by night I am a vampire design and host websites. I use to do a little freelance bookkeeping but have completely given that up (the extra money wasn’t worth the frustration). And as if I’m not already busy enough, I am studying towards a business degree with which I intend to do something involving numbers and company law. Or possibly not.
Babies: I never intended for this to be a blog about having (and losing) babies and everything that goes along with that but when you get on the path to parenthood, especially when that path is a difficult one, it tends to permeate into every aspect of life, this blog included.
Lifestyle: Overall, our aim is to simply live healthier, happier lives while reducing our impact on the planet and saving some money. We have switched to organically grown and GM-free produce and are now in the process of embracing a chemical free home. Making your own cleaning products is easy and very inexpensive. Ideally I’d like to achieve a lifestyle that can be maintained on my husband’s income only, so that if we do ever have a family, there’s less pressure for me to return to work. Besides, we might need the extra money for fertility treatment or adoption costs. And if we don’t have a family, we’ll have a smaller mortgage, some decent savings and some awesome holidays.
Interests: I collect vintage cameras and love photography. My passion is b&w photography but I also play with slide film which I usually cross-process. My big achievement for 2005 was having a series of my photos published in a coffee table book. I also enjoy gaming (RPGs mostly), baking, sewing and knitting. I really love knitting with Australian wool but I’ve recently discovered cotton and have fallen in love! I would love to learn to crochet properly but there never seems to be enough hours in the day.
